In our opinion, altay mountain ram Argali can become the talisman of Winter Olympic Games-2014 in Sochi. There are very serious bases as for this talisman, and it is not necessary to invent new histories. All turns out quite well and naturally. We suggest to present altai mountain ram Argali as an alive Golden Fleece! This magic image will connect us to spirit of the Ancient Greece that is the progenitress of modern Olympic movement. The word talisman designates a subject which brings happiness, success. It occurs from the greek word telesma - dedication, charms. In section "the Ancient greek epos. Argonauts", N.A.Kun we read: "the Rumour about Golden Fleece has extended across all Greece. Descendants of Afamant, father Friks, knew, that rescue and prosperity of their family depends on the possession of fleece". It turns out, that the epic Golden Fleece is the talisman which owner was the magician and charm Medea. It remains to prove, that Argali can be actually presented as the alive Golden Fleece.
Argali is the altay mountain ram, rare subspecies of an arhar. They dwell in the Altai Republic, Tuva and Mongolia. Argali - the hugest mountain ram in the world! The weight of a mail reaches up to 200 kg. Also Argali have improbably powerful horns which can be stretched in length up to 1,5 meters. The adult person hardly lifts such a miracle-horn! The word Altai means literally gold. Then we receive, that Argali is the gold mountain ram! Scientists do not doubt that Argali is a magic mountain ram. They name Argali in a scientifically way as ovis amon amon. Improbably, but the name of the Egyptian tsar of gods Amon is used two times as a whole (the title of tsar of tsars!). The ram is right a sacred animal of the tsar of gods Amon (in the Amon temple in Karnak we see statues of rams). Poetic translation of the official scientific name Argali can sound as an omen of tsar of gods! May be this play of words hides behind itself something else more considerable.
The ram as sacred animal of Amon is also its omen! If we shall change ovis on avis we receive a word one of which values - an omen. The word Аmon can occur from latin Amo - to love. What can be above and kingly in our world than love! First Olympic Games in the Ancient Greece had religious implied sense and had been devoted to tsar of gods Zeus. Zeus, as well as the Jupiter at Romans, is the reflection of Amon (discrepancy of ancient gods cannot deny that the love is the highest origin). We have received, that Argali even owing to its name is connected with Olympic Games! From Greece to Sochi can be delivered not only Olympic fire. Magic ram Argali can arrive from there, connecting Russia and Greece. In fact once Aries with Golden Fleece has already brought Frix on coasts of the Fasis (modern Rioni), and it almost near to Sochi! Our magic ram has very beautiful name Argali. It is combined with the words Argo and Argonauts. As earlier Heroes, participants of "Argo Campaign", set off on searches of a Golden Fleece, so at present participants of "Argali expedition" unite the efforts in studying, protection and preservation of unique mountain ram Argali! Scientists mark one religious feature of the Ancient Greece named totemism. Sacred animals cannot be killed, they need to be protected! In our opinion, the acceptance of Argali as official talisman of Winter Olympic Games in Sochi-2014 will favour the preservation of this unique animal. We should be proud, that in our country there is the alive Golden Fleece – mountain ram Argali! The image of Argali really symbolizes ideals of the Olympic movement and unites its many qualities. The talisman Argali will bring to Russia new sport successes and victories.
